Oh my. What does one say about SANTA AND THE ICE CREAM BUNNY? As noted in my look at SANTA CLAUS CONQUERS THE MARTIANS, Mr. Claus has been the subject of some very strange films. There may be no stranger than this one.
Although I haven't seen every Santa Claus movie, I feel fairly comfortable in labelling SANTA AND THE ICE CREAM BUNNY as the worst Santa movie ever made. How bad is it? So bad that it gets replaced by a whole other movie about half way in! Complete with opening and closing credits! Said film is a Barry Mahon featurette filmed in Florida's Pirate World amusement park and previously released in 1970 as THUMBELINA! While this film looks and feels like a high school play put on to entertain the younger classes, it's fairly opulent for a Barry Mahon picture, and it's practically Disney compared to the wrap-around footage with Santa Claus!

12/26/13-A Variety of Readings, part 1
With a variety of decks. My new Steampunk Tarot, my still-new Light Visions tarot, my Golden tarot, and my old deck of playing cards. I'm also playing around with spreads, because I've discovered that it's (occasionally) funner to do readings with spreads than to blindly draw cards and interpret them & their meaning & significance. I'm splitting this into two posts, though, so it doesn't get too long.First Reading with the Steampunk Tarot

Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams said he will most likely appeal the Superior Court's reversal Thursday of the conviction of Monsignor William Lynn. 'I am disappointed and strongly disagree with the court's decision,' Williams said in a statement. 'While we are deciding what our next course of action will be, we most likely will be appealing this decision.'

Gungrave [Animated Series]
This is a series I need to find time to rewatch as it has a constant dark presence over your typical quiet hero protagonist. It is similar to Berserk as far as personality and the theme it aims for. From the creators of Trigun I can see their style in some of the concept design. A worthwhile series that stands well on its own separate from Trigun.
Brandon Heat and his friend Harry are orphans on the streets surviving by thieving and other means. They soon gain the attention of high rise gangsters and gradually move up the chain of command. Throughout the series we see their friendship tested and evolve to become something neither of them truly saw coming. Betrayal is the main theme, but the series also includes survival through gaining power and the question of how long before it finally corrupts.

'The Wolf Of Wall Street': Scorsese's Electrifying Tale of Sex, Drugs, and Very Dirty Money
Martin Scorsese's new movie hits the ground running with a montage of dwarf tossing, sex grappling and extreme drug behavior of a sort I don't believe I've ever seen on screen before. Then it gets really crazy. Frantically edited down from four hours to three, and now arriving at the last moment for Oscar consideration, "" is hilarious and appalling and, by the end, a little exhausting. Scorsese shows us bad men doing very bad things -- ruining lives, treating women like dirt -- and declines to take a moral stand about what we're seeing. And with giving an explosive performance at the center of the film -- sometimes in long, rabble-rousing orations -- it's hard not to get caught up in these people's demented exuberance.
The story is true-life, drawn from a memoir by , a stock market shark of unapologetically skeezy inclinations and prodigious appetites. We meet Belfort (DiCaprio) arriving on Wall Street in 1987, and being quickly wised up by a top broker named Mark Hanna (Matthew , taking total possession of the movie in a very brief appearance). The dirty secret of stock-trading, Hanna tells Belfort, is that while the clients are only getting rich on paper, the brokers are getting cash-rich on commissions. He counsels taking as much cocaine as possible.

[BEST & WORST '13 ] Lauren Taylor's 5 Worst Films of 2013
How was I able to cut down the worst films of 2013 to this simple list of 5? Well, friends, it was extremely tough. I could have easily made this a list of 10 15 20. I want to reiterate that I personally believe that this year was extremely unkind in the horror department. Sure, we had some great movies this year as noted in my . However, the abundance of bad movies was overwhelming for me, and interestingly enough, a lot of the big name films of the year ended up on my Worst list. Which ones?
