Kamen Rider Gaim is an upcoming Japanese tokusatsu drama in the Kamen Rider Series, the 15th series during it's Heisei run and 24th overall. Trademarks on the title were requested in May 2013, and the show was officially announced on July 25, 2013. It will be broadcast on TV Asahi starting October 6, 2013, a week following the finale of the show's predecessor Kamen Rider Wizard, and it will join Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger in the Super Hero Time block. The catchphrase of the series is "Rider Warring States Period".
In the world of Kamen Rider Gaim, because of a large company known as Yggdrasil Corporation setting up a shop in a once busting city, it now feels like everyone is living in a castle town. To escape this feeling, young people throughout the city have formed dance crews to bring joy back into their lives. Also popular is a game that uses Lockseeds that contain small animals known as Invase that are said to come from another dimension. However, as this game becomes more and more popular, it seems to be causing tears in reality to an actual alternate dimension from which monsters are invading the Earth.
Kota Kazuraba, who gives up time in his dance crew to start a job to help out his sister, uses a special Lockseed in his Sengoku Driver belt to transform into Kamen Rider Gaim to battle these monsters, but he must also contend with other Kamen Riders, transforming a fight against monsters from another dimension into a Kamen Rider warring states period.
Griton, Balon, Gaim, Ryugen and Zangetsu
In Gaim, the characters' design motifs are that of the Sengoku period armor and fruits. The eponymous protagonist Kamen Rider Gaim has japanese armor and his main form, known as an Arms Change, requires the Orange Lockseed and is known as has an Orange Arms; a later form uses the Pine Lockseed and is known as Pine Arms. Different weapons are used by the different fruit-themed Arm Changes. Rival Kamen Riders include Kamen Rider Balon who has Western-type armor and the Banana Arms, Kamen Rider Ryugen who has Chinese armor and the Budou Arms, and yet to be fully described Kamen Rider Zangetsu and Kamen Rider Guriton.
