High School DxD OVA 1: "Oppai, Minorimasu!"

"In the name of Duke Gremory, I'll blast you away."

"I really would have enjoyed it far more had you resisted."

In preparation for the second season of High School DxD (which is already airing as I write this) TNK has released two OVA episodes. Being an ecchi anime, and this being an OVA episode, you can probably guess what's in store. If not, then let's just say boobs.

The setup is simple: a stray demon has created a plant/dragon chimera that is harvesting energy from big breasted women to create fruit that will enlarge the breasts of flat chested women. Yes, that is the actual premise of the OVA. It's ridiculous, but it's all just a ruse to show some boobage. I guess that's okay, right?

The main gang is back, but it's up to Koneko, Yuuto, and Issei to stop the monster when the rest of the gang are taken captive. What do I mean by "captive?" Boobs, tentacles, slime... you get the idea. Personally, I had a few good laughs at Issei's refusal to kill the monster. After all, what man doesn't want a world filled with big-breasted women. But Koneko throwing Issei into a hole at the end and Rias and the other girls burying him in the dirt was also funny as well. He deserves it, and I probably do too.

If the idea of the OVA offends you, then you shouldn't be here to start with: High School DxD was filled with this kind of filth. If you found you way here on purpose, then I must admit the OVA was a bit disappointing. Sure, there's boobs and the humor was decent, but it was a pretty shallow episode that doesn't seem to segue into season two at all. Also, if you're going to just do an episode about breasts, then they probably should have went further with it. As is, the OVA fills like an extended version of one of those mini-specials that came packed in with the Blu-Ray releases. I guess that was the point, though.

EPISODE RATING: Poor.

"Small breasts are a cardinal sin!"

"I'll make the entire world big-breasted!"
