Neptunia V final thoughts

I just finished this game less than an hour ago, and I have to say that it has by far the longest ending of any game I've played in quite some time. Probably the longest since I finished Xenosaga III. Anyhow, as stated in the last post about this game, the craziness is still dialed up to the max. Which is usually a good thing, though it can detract from any kind of tense mood. And then there's... Neptune with a tv station... man the possibilities XD The ending credits is classic old school. Add in the music they set it to, and it's solid gold. Note, that the ending I'm talking about is the true ending. There are two others.

As for the plot. Well, it's all over the place, mainly because both the main cast of villains and your crew are looney as toons, but also because the group of villains have no real plan of action. They're more like a group of misfits thrown together by the mysterious Croire. That said, there is one part of the villainy that gets into the territory of being really bad, and that's what Mr Badd did. Kidnapping little girls and trying to turn them into CPU to do the Seven Sages' bidding, but they ended up turning into monsters instead. That guy needed his ass beat somethin' fierce, and he got it. Plutia handled the torture after that revelation, so you know Mr Badd got what he had coming to him. At least he was able to make amends in the end by reversing the process. ...This could easily serve as a kick-start into a new game. Looks like Rei Ryghts missed a pretty plausible approach to the idea of getting rid of the CPU's.

If this is the end of the series, it went out with a bang. But if not, for god's sake IF, release a full OST for once, would ya?! There were several good tracks that didn't make it onto the partial soundtrack disc that should have.

Here's to looking forward to the anime!
