The 47th Samurai: The Trailer for "47 Ronin"

Keanu Reeves in a mystical Japan, playing a half-breed who joins a band of 47 samurai out to avenge the murder of their master by a warlord? Fighting monsters and witches? Well, that's what you'll get around Christmas time in 47 Ronin, also starring Pacific Rim's Rinko Kikuchi. The movie is described thusly by Universal:

Keanu Reeves makes an explosive return to action-adventure in 47 Ronin. After a treacherous warlord kills their master and banishes their kind, 47 leaderless samurai vow to seek vengeance and restore honor to their people. Driven from their homes and dispersed across the land, this band of Ronin must seek the help of Kai (Reeves)--a half-breed they once rejected--as they fight their way across a savage world of mythic beasts, shape-shifting witchcraft and wondrous terrors. As this exiled, enslaved outcast becomes their most deadly weapon, he will transform into the hero who inspires this band of outnumbered rebels to seize eternity.

Dude.

Yeah, I'm torn between making Matrix jokes and Point Break jokes and Bill and Ted jokes, so I'll pass on all of them and just tell you to make your own, or give your impressions of the movie, in the comments below. Excited about Johnny Utah wielding a sword? And, yes, this story (a fantasy take on a true story) has been made into movies before, but never with Keanu Reeves, so we're in uncharted territory now.
