November 1, 2013: X-Men Trailer, Ms. Krabappel to be Retired from The Simpsons, How I Met Your Father

NEWS: Marcia Wallace, who voiced Edna Krabappel on The Simpsons, passed away last Friday night. Though they discussed killing off a character this season, the retirement of Ms. Krabappel is unrelated.



TV: KERRY WASHINGTON hosts this week's SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE with musical guest Eminem. Hopefully Eminem does a skit with Taran Killam, who does a spot on impression.




- I don't even know if this counts as TV, but AZIZ ANSARI is releasing his newest comedy special "BURIED ALIVE," which will be available on Netflix! That Aziz is always trying new methods of distribution...



- Happy Halloween! Now that DEXTER is done, Seasons 1-4 are now available on NETFLIX. Seasons 5-8 will be up starting January 1, 2014.



- FOX delayed the debut of J.J. Abrams's ALMOST HUMAN, but that doesn't get me down! They have released an exclusive preview on Hulu.

- How I Met Your Mother creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas are working with Up All Night creator Emily Spivey on a spin-off series tentatively called HOW I MET YOUR FATHER. It would be the same set up featuring a new group of characters.



- ENTOURAGE fans, the movie is happening! Adrian Grenier, Kevin Dillon, Jerry Ferrara, and Kevin Connolly have signed on to join Jeremy Piven.



- ANDREW RANNELLS will be returning to GIRLS for its third season, and is poised to become a season regular if a fourth season is picked up.



- RENEWED: Drunk History, Key & Peele, The Walking Dead

- CANCELLED: The Client List



MOVIES: Out this week are ENDER'S GAME, LAST VEGAS, FREE BIRDS, and in select theaters, ABOUT TIME and 12 YEARS A SLAVE.



- DVD: Monsters University, R.I.P.D.



- Finally... a trailer for X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST! Time to drool. Experience the power of the spectacular cast of two X-Men franchises.

- This trailer for THE WOLF OF WALL STREET gets me really pumped! More reasons to love Christmas!

- The newest trailer for THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE is out! I have my tickets already!

- I've heard great things about LABOR DAY, but have been so confused about what kind of movie it actually is. This trailer looks pretty good though.



MUSIC: Ladies, ladies! M.I.A., CELINE DION, and AVRIL LAVIGNE all release new albums on Tuesday.



BOOKS: Everyone's all a-buzz with the release of the third book in Veronica Roth's Divergent Trilogy, ALLEGIANT. With the movie coming out next March, maybe it's time to get reading!
