Predictions for Popular Halloween Costumes (2013)

Trick or treating is not the only thing to look forward to on Halloween. Before you can get the candy, you need the proper costume.

Apart from the very popular white bed sheet with two holes, some of the popular costumes you can expect to see tomorrowinclude superheroes. With the Marvel movies being recently released (Thor will premiere tomorrow at midnight), and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., there is even more reason for Marvel fans to dress as their favorite superhero this Halloween. I believe many will dress up as Superman or Batman from DC comics because of the popularity they have had in years past.

Characters from movies and television shows are also some of the most popular picks. This year's most talked about shows include Breaking Bad, the Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, and others. Some of the movie characters I expect to see are those in the Hunger Games and the Avengers. I also think older movies such as The Grudge, Halloween, Hocus Pocus, Monsters Inc., The Nightmare before Christmas, and any of the Harry Potter movies will continue to be popular. Other costumes from tv shows I still expect to see are those characters from 90s shows like the Power Rangers, Scooby-doo, and the Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Last Halloween, many people dressed up as Vampires due to the Twilight book/movie series and the Vampire Dairies (show). But this year, it's not a war between Vampires or Wolves; it's about all about the zombies (from the World War Z movie or the Walking Dead).

Celebrities are also a huge costume pick. People are most likely to dress up as a popular boy band such as One Direction. Another singer I think will be seen is Miley Cyrus (dressed as Miley in the Wrecking Ball video or her VMA performance with Robin Thicke). Celebrities such as the Kardashians, Kanye West Lady Gaga, and Beyonce are sure to be present in Halloween parties.

Video gaming fans will most likely dress up as characters from Slenderman, Halo, or even Grand Theft Auto.

We also can't forget the ever so popular provocative costumes (such as nurses, policemen, and animals) or the princesses from Disney movies.

Whatever the popular costumes may be this Halloween, lots of creativity is sure to be involved.
