Masters Of Horror! (James Whale)

Another quickie.

His career was significantly shorter than though.

FRANKENSTEIN (1931)

See , and

THE OLD DARK HOUSE (1932)

One with I left out.

A couple seeks shelter from a storm at a creepy mansion, the inhabitants are fucked up, bad mojo goes down.

The usual formula.

It probably wasn't back then.

is the wacky butler.

THE INVISIBLE MAN (1933)

See

Scientist makes invisibility potion, scientist takes invisibility potion, potion has insanity side-effect.

You guessed it, hi-jinks ensue.

Another great one that holds up.

Has a sprinkle of dark humor to it.

Whale was a quirky fella.

Followed by a sequel with

THE BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN (1935)

See

GODS AND MONSTERS (1998)

See , and

The biopic.

Magneto is a pretty good likeness.

And, bam, done, that's James Whale.
