host JOHN RABE and Orson Welles expert R.H. GREENE celebrate the 75th anniversary of the greatest radio broadcast of all time, Orson Welles and the Mercury Theatre's production of The War of the Worlds.

We'll turn the lights down and play the original 1938 broadcast from start to finish. Then, with the lights back up, Rabe and Greene will tell the exciting backstory of the broadcast and play clips from Greene's new radio documentary War of the Welles.

R.H. will play some of the now-forgotten radio drama that was the blueprint for War of the Worlds, and show how Welles led the talented Mercury Theatre players like a great conductor leading an orchestra. It's a master class in drama, but also a lesson in how myths and legends are born and bred; many of which Greene will explode onstage."
