NOVEMBER IS A MEGA-MONTH FOR DOCTOR WHO FANS, AND WHAT BETTER WAY TO CELEBRATE THE SHOW'S 50TH ANNIVERSARY THAN TO BINGE ON THE BLU-RAY OF THE COMPLETE SEVENTH SERIES?
Of course, it may as well be 1963 given Doctor Who's shabby SD transmissions on Prime.
But at least Roadshow Entertainment releases the latest seasons and specials on Blu-ray, with the seventh including four commentaries, six documentaries and a bounty of other .
"The Complete Seventh Series set presents both Christmas specials and all 13 S7 episodes by way of a 1080p/AVC-encoded video presentation.
"And, for all intents and purposes, it's as close to perfect as any Doctor Who fanatic could hope for."
"The show comes with a DTS HD audio track that suited the show well.
"There is a lot of aural action in the show; the TARDIS taking off, various battles with monsters, etc., and those sequences were ."
Also new this week are ONCE UPON A TIME - THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON, BEING HUMAN - THE COMPLETE FIFTH SERIES and STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS - THE COMPLETE SEASON FIVE.
"The second season of Once Upon a Time has a1080p HD transfer. All 22 episodes are presented in 1.78:1 aspect ratio.
"The biggest flaw with this release is its green screen scenes. When there is a segment that is heavily shot with a green screen background, the image nose dives into oblivion with banding, motion blur, and aliasing. It's horribly distracting."
"Series five marks the last episodes of Being Human in the UKRecorded in 1080p/AVC, this title continues the attention to video quality that the BBC has paid for many of their signature titles of late."
Speaking of which, series seven of Doctor Who on Blu-ray spearheads a month-long commemorative slate and although the other titles are DVD only, they'll be a must for fans.

A SPECIAL 50TH ANNIVERSARY DVD SERIES
The first volume in this restrospective series showcases Doctor Who's first four doctors - William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker, spanning from 1963-1981.
THE DOCTORS REVISITED includes a half hour profile and a classic story for each Doctor introduced by Steven Moffat (the current Lead Writer & Executive Producer). Each classic story is available to view as a widescreen, feature-length version or in its episodic, original format.
Featuring The Aztecs (William Hartnell), The Tomb of the Cybermen (Patrick Troughton) Spearhead from Space (Jon Pertwee) and Pyramid of Mars Tom Baker.
DOCTOR WHO REVISITED VOLUME 2
The years 1981-1996 saw four new actors portray the Doctor, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy and Paul McGann, the focus of the second volume in THE DOCTORS REVISITED. Featuring 30 minute restrospectives per Doctor, a Steven Moffat introduction. Each classic story is available to view as a widescreen, feature-length version or in its episodic, original format.
Featuring the stories: Earthshock (Peter Davison), Vengeance on Varos (Colin Baker), Remembrance of the Daleks (Sylvester McCoy), and Doctor Who: The Movie (Paul McGann).

DOCTOR WHO: THE ENEMY OF THE WORLD (NOVEMBER 27)
THE FIRST DVD RELEASE OF THE 11 LOST EPISODES RECENTLY RECOVERED IN NIGERIA.
THE ENEMY OF THE WORLD, is the fourth six-part tale of the original fifth series which first broadcast in the UK December 1967. Alongside Patrick Troughton, who plays both the Time Lord, and his antagonist (Ramon Salamander) are his companions Frazer Hines (Jamie) and Deborah Watling (Victoria). Episodes 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6 had been missing from the BBC archives, until now. All episodes have been re-mastered.
27 Doctor Who stories still remain missing or have incomplete episodes, after a number were lost as a result of BBC Archive space-saving measures.
