An excuse to be crafty

It`s two weeks holiday in France so we have plenty of time to do crafts.

The Nightmare before X-mas playset seen on www.spoonful.com. My daughter is already very skilled with scissors.

A gingerbread house (find the recipe below)

Yoghurt monsters (yoghurt cups, goggling eyes and black paper)

Recipe for gingerbread:

Gingerbread is very popular in my home country. Though we bake it mainly for Christmas, I thought it might be a good idea to make one for All Saints Holiday.

YOU WILL NEED:

4 eggs

300 g sugar

200 g honey

150 g butter

2 tablespoons of bicarbonate of soda

4 tablespoons of gingerbread spices (cardamone, ginger, cinnamon, cloves)

around 700 g of flour

Mix all the ingridients and let sit in the fridge for one night. The next day, let outside of the fridge for 2 hours. Then cut out squares, triangles etc. needed for the house. Bake around 10 minutes at 200 degrees. Decorate with icing (I used natural orange colouring found at ), small creatures (witches and ghosts etc.)
