This week I continued to learn about animals on the farm, but we changed up the way I am learning a little!
The past couple weeks Mom done some reading here and there about Montessori learning and has been slowly incorporating little bits each week. Last week she updated my playroom so it's easier to choose toys and focus. This week she gave me more responsibilities of my own!
The Montessori philosophy is to learn through play. Montessori focuses not only on teaching me my ABC's and colors, but practical skills as well. This means instead of waiting till I go to sleep to do chores Mom is teaching me how to help. I got my own spray bottle and rag to help clean the floors and bathrooms, put the clothes in the washer and dryer, and I turn off all the lights and close the garage door when we come in. I also started sitting at the big table for dinner. My own little table is on it's way for breakfast, lunch, and snacks. I can also use my table for crafts and to practice pouring.Right now one of my favorite things is to be doing what Mom and Dad are doing, so I am so happy! There have been very few meltdowns if any since Mom started giving me jobs! Extra Bonus: When I nap Mom actually gets to relax too : )
This week I learned a few new words and signs, too. I can sign help when I need help, come when I want you to follow me and book. Speaking of books, My favorite books this week are my "That's Not My Monster" and "Animals" book. I like to point to he animal and listen to Mom make the sound. I learned this week that a cow says "OOOO" (moo) and cat says "owwww" (meow).
I also started yelling for Bella and Bodie to come, but it sounds more like "Doodo and Deya umm." They love me even more because now I give them the treats!
