I love and adore Halloween. It is my far and large my most favorite holiday. I eat up anything Halloween-related, and I just can't get enough!! Oddly, I do not dress up, nor do I really decorate my house. I know. That's weird hahaha So today, I am super excited to bring you the China Glaze Monster's Ball collection! I have been eyeing these babies since I first heard about them.
There is a sixth polish offered with this collection - Ghoulish Glow, and it's getting it's OWN post :) I'm a HUGE fan of GITD polishes, and I will be featuring some of them over the next few days :) But on to these beauties.... after the cut :)
Let's start with the textured polish of this collection, BUMP IN THE NIGHT. I don't own a black polish quite like this. Pictured is one coat, and it has great coverage! I couldn't believe how textured it looked with only one coat. This type of texture reminds me of a fuzzy sweater. And that kinda makes me feel warm and fuzzy.
My favorite of this collection is BOO-GIE DOWN - a white, black and copper glitter. It's so versatile, and the formula is spot-on! No goopiness, no digging around for the exact glitter you want. Pictured is one medium coat over . It's spreads on the nail very nicely.
I assumed I would be head over heels for BAT MY EYES, but something about it just kept me from falling in love. It's a gorgeous polish, black jelly packed with gold glitter. It applied beautifully and is opaque in two coats. I kind of feel like it's a nice replica of ,(Holy Moses my older swatches were horrible hahaha) a previous Halloween polish from CG.
I found HOWL YOU DOIN' sort of a pain to work with. The flakies are beautiful, but the polish clumped on me. I think it would benefit from a small dose of thinner. As is, tho, the color and payoff is neat! I wish the flakies stood out a bit more tho. They tend to get buried in the base.
FANG-TASTIC is not a typical Halloween polish in my mind. This glitter topper has pink, blue and green glitter...which is kind of Mardi Gras-ish, right? hahah I tried it over a dark purple and black for my swatches,. I think it pops the best over black, but I can see it working over just about any dark color! Pictured is two coats. The glitter is sparse once you start spreading, and sometimes you have to maneuver the glitter around.
Do you have a favorite? My favorite of the collection is Boo-gie Down. Such a great glitter topper with an excellent formula! I do like Bump in the Night, as well. I'm still iffy about the textured craze, but that is definitely one of the good textured polishes :) You can find these wherever China Glaze polishes are sold. Price varies by vendor.
