I always seem to end up watching this every other year or soit's the cover I tell ya, it's so visually stunning it draws me in every time I'm unsure of what to watchthis time it was on Netflix.
The scene in the woods with the old man and the ninja's is one of the visually coolest action scenes I've ever seenwell, It would have been if the CGI blood didn't ruin it all. I mean, which nimcompoop came up with the superbig drops of blood type animation ??? It looks uberfake and stupid and it takes away from the movie which is pretty impressive visually otherwise. They should take the CGI crew, lock them up and throw away the keyit's that bad. It's not just the CGI blood that is badthe monsters aren't scary at all and they look like something you'd see in a movie 30-40 years ago. Like someone played around with clay (the kind we used to when we were kids back in the 80s). The only CGI part I did like was Saya's eyes glowing red at some points in the movie.
I never got to watch the anime series but I might actually get to it since Netflix has it which is cool. The filming of the fight scenes was pretty good actuallyat least the camera crew knew what they were doing.
Every time I've seen this movie in the past I've been whining about the Alice character () 'cause she's uber annoyingbut this time around she must have been growing on me or I've grown a tolerance. I do like whome plays Saya tho, she was in one of my all time favorite movies
, the director isn't all that familiar to me.. well not at all actually, tho from looking at imdb.com he's the dude who did(2001) with Jet Li which was pretty cool and(2005) with Jean Reno which was ok.
..I RATE THIS MOVIE 5/10 STARS..
