NBA STAR BEFRIENDED EX-ARIZONA CLEMENCY BOARD BOSS
Known as a tireless worker during his college days, Oladipo averaged 19.0 points, 5.0 assists and 4.3 rebounds during four impressive games on Orlando's summer league team, and he hasn't stopped yet. White, meanwhile, was one of the many basketball stars who preceded Oladipo at Indiana. But after five NBA seasons with Oklahoma City, Charlotte and Boston and a short stop in Shanghai, China, last season, White is looking for a new team. He was included in this summer's blockbuster Celtics-Nets trade, only to be waived by the Nets in a cost-cutting move. "I'm talking to a couple teams. I've got different offers back in China. I'm just weighing my options, taking my time," White said. "Hopefully in the next couple weeks, I'll decide what I'm going to do." But back at Indiana, White and Oladipo feel at home and Crean enjoys bringing the ex-players back to teach the young players how to play the game.

NO. 2 PICK VICTOR OLADIPO EXCITED FOR PRO DEBUT
As a rookie, Wroten hardly had an opportunity to gain on-court experience, appearing in just 35 games for Memphis. The Grizzlies recently signed Nick Calathes to two-year deal, making him an expendable prospect. Grizzly Bear Blues also adds that Wroten's performance on the Grizzlies' Las Vegas summer league squad could have led to the decision. Wroten took the highest amount of field goal attempts on the team (79) while shooting just 25 percent from the field and 16 percent from beyond the arc. The future second-round pick from the Sixers is top-50 protected, making this a low-risk asset acquisition for new general manager Sam Hinkie to experiment with. Roy Hibbert is a monster Roy Hibbert is 7'2, big even for NBA standards, but a recent picture he posted of himself alongside fellow NBA'ers Tim Duncan and Ian Mahinmi shows just how monstrous he is: Tom Lewis of Indy Cornrows has all the measurements for the two big men and one giant man: Ian Mahinmi was listed at 6'11 and 230 pounds last year, while Hibbert was 7'2 and 280 pounds. Appears the 50-pound difference is closer to 60 or 70 right now.
THEY DREAMED OF THE NBA, BUT SAVOR THEIR DAYS AS RACERS
Timberwolves PR (@TwolvesPR) August 22, 2013 Corey Brewer has been an NBA player for six seasons. Before that, he was a Florida Gator for three. Before that, he was a McDonalds All-American high school star. And hes had this awesome goat the entire time. The Minnesota Timberwolves tweeted that photo Thursday because Brewer, who returned to the team this offseason as a free agent, will be attending the Minnesota State Fair. We, like the Timberwolves, are not certain if hell be bringing his goat. But either way, you want a second photo. Here it is, from Brewers TwitPic library back in 2010 : And either way, you want to know if Billy Donovan ever petted the goat.

Those are big-time draft picks, especially with this class coming up and the next following year. The Celtics also have a new coach, former Butler coach Brad Stevens, whom Sullinger met at Northland High School when Stevens was recruiting in the Columbus area. Hes a great guy, Sullinger said. I always respected him for what he did and how he handled situations. Also for his coaching style, going to two Final Fours with what he had. Last season in Boston, Sullinger averaged 6.0 points and 5.9 rebounds before a back injury required surgery and caused him to miss the rest of the season. He said hes fully healthy now and has been cleared for full contact. He has been scrimmaging with teammates and will participate in training camp next month. FORECAST: 2013-14 NBA CHAMPIONS
I always had aspirations of getting a callup, but I also knew that if I didn't I wanted to achieve something. That CBA title was it. Thomas said he still thinks about the championship series win over the Grand Rapids Hoops, as well as the emotional semifinal series victory over the Rapid City Thrillers. A little more than you'd think, said Thomas, now an Atlanta Hawks assistant coach. It was a great series. For Mike Thibault, the only coach the Racers ever had, Omaha was the right job in the right place at the right time. It was such an important time in my family's life, Thibault said. It's a great place to raise a family. It was just a perfect fit for us. And it was a perfect fit for me basketball-wise, because it was a chance for me to test out what I wanted to be as a coach. I could become me. Previously an NBA assistant, Thibault returned to the league in 1997 before becoming a WNBA head coach in 2003.
The investigation report released Wednesday by the state Department of Administration also shows Hernandez bragged of being befriended by Stoudemire and receiving game tickets from him. The report included a picture of the two that was posted by Stoudemire on a Twitter feed. Records released Friday by the clemency board show Hernandez voted to move ahead with considering cutting Marwan Williams' 9-year sentence a week after the investigation report was completed and forwarded to Gov. Jan Brewer's office. Two other board members voted against the action and Williams will have to wait two years before applying for commutation again. Williams was sentenced in 2009 to 9 years for his role in a botched armed robbery that resulted in the death of a suspected drug dealer. Gov. Jan Brewer's spokesman says it reviewed the report as quickly as possible before meeting with Hernandez. "During that meeting, he resigned, and the governor welcomed his resignation," Brewer spokesman Andrew Wilder said in a statement.
CHRIS PAUL NAMED NBA PLAYERS' UNION PRESIDENT
The franchise is situated neatly next to the Pacific Ocean in the Entertainment Capital of the World with boundless revenue streams and the potential to sign almost anyone they want without repercussions. They've historically scoffed at luxury taxes and salary caps and have no problem paying top dollar to field a team capable of winning it all every year. There's a lot to to envy. Moreover, they've won plenty while employing the above strategy, and they've done so in bunches with 16 NBA championships to the franchise's name. Only the Boston Celtics have more.
