Anticipation

I don't know about the rest of you but I am so looking forward to Sunday. No it's not the excitement of watching the Bengals play football it's that The Walking Dead is back. This show has become possibly my favorite show on TV right now, along with Sons of Anarchy they have become the two shows I must see every week and will watch over and over again when I see them in reruns. This got me to thinking about how much I enjoy the anticipation of the arrival of the new season of TV and all the old favorites returning along with new shows, like this years Marvels Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. that was just sitting there waiting for me to grab onto and hold like the Smeagol and the golden ring. This year has been kind of disappointing in that I really haven't haven't seen any new shows aside from MAoS that has grabbed me and said your gonna want to buckle up cause your here to stay.I have to wonder if that is due to my tastes changing, in the old days a show like BrooklynNine Nine would have really caught my attention but it just has not.

I think part of that is I am so much more focused on my reading than I have ever been in my life.I get so much more excited when I hear a book I have read has a sequel coming out, let alone if it is getting made into a movie.I will also say that although being a self professed movie whore I don't get as excited about seeing movies in the theater as I used to.I am fully willing usually to wait until the movie is available on DVD to watch it in the comfort of my own home.Me and Samantha use to go the movies at least once or twice a month and now it honestly just not worth the money.I enjoy the gift card we get from my mother at Christmas time because it allows us to go get the summer blockbusters we want to see but the smaller movies I watch here.

It would seem my anticipation is reserved for books anymore.I have been so waiting for the book I am reading right now Monsters by Ilsa Bick, it is the third chapter in the Ashes series and so far as been as amazing as the first two.The others that spawned this sense of anticipation in me was The Strain trilogy, The Ashfall trilogy and of course Divergent. What does amaze me is that out of all of these books only one has ever been made into a movie, Divergent, but I firmly believe all of them could be big money makers.Of course this is probably why I am not in Hollywood I would be making movies out of every good book I ever read.
