Silly Stories for the Whole Family

My co-workers and I are all making lists of great books for ages that correspond with our storytime (babies, 1s, 2s, 3s & 4s ) However, my storytime is a family storytime aimed at ages 2-6 with their family. So here's the booklist I made:

SILLY STORIES FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

Feiffer, Jules- Bark, George

George the dog will not bark. Instead, he says, "Meow" and "Quack-Quack" and other animal sounds. His mother takes him to the vet to find out why.

Folgueira, Rodrigo- Ribbit!

One day, a group of frogs discover a little pink pig in their pond. All the pig will say is "Ribbit!" The frogs are confused so they go to the wise old beetle for help.

Gravett, Emily- Again!

It is Cedric the dragon's bedtime which means it is also storytime. He loves the book his mother reads him so much that he asks for her to read it again, and again, and again

Idle, Molly- Flora and the Flamingo

Flora meets a flamingo and the two become friends by mimicking each other's dance movements.

Klassen, Jon- I Want My Hat Back

The bear lost his hat, so he goes around asking other animals if they have seen it. He is about to give up on his search when he remembers maybe he did see his hat.

McDonnell, Patrick- The Monsters' Monster

When Grouch, Grump, and Gloom 'n' Doom get into an argument about who is the biggest and baddest monster of all, they decide to settle it by building a new, huge, monster. However, the new monster does not turn out as they were expecting.

Portis, Antoinette- Not a Box

A small rabbit uses imagination to turn a box into a rocket and a mountain among other things to prove that it is not a box.

Stein, David Ezra- Interrupting Chicken

Little red chicken can't help but interrupt her bedtime stories. She always jumps in to help save the characters.

Willems, Mo-That is Not a Good Idea!

A hungry fox invites a plump goose to dinner, and the little chicks know something bad is going to happen. The ending is sure to be a surprise!

Wood, Audrey- The Napping House

One by one a family piles on the cozy bed in the napping house to sleepuntil a wakeful flea topples the whole sleep heap!
