In tomorrow's episode of Fox's Sleepy Hollow, the unlikely duo of Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) and Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie) are in for another round of dark encounters, this time in the form of The Sandman. According to the myth, The Sandman appears in a dream to those who "turned a blind eye to justice".
In a recent promo, the show's writer and co-exec producer Jose Molina reveals that the new evil element will visit Abbie, who has a bitter past with her sister Jenny (Lyndie Greenwood). A scene is shown of Ichabod visiting Jenny in what appears to be an asylum, and he spoke of "the monster" that she and Abbie saw when they were kids.
Apparently, Abbie denies ever seeing what Jenny saw and went along with everyone else's conclusion that her sister was crazy. "That's why I'm in here and she's out there," Jenny tells Ichabod. When Ichabod confronts Abbie, her guilt starts to show through.
Finally, by the end of the trailer, we catch a glimpse of The Sandman's pale, long fingers as it reaches for Abbie. Will Ichabod figure out a way to wake her out of the nightmare?
Check out the synopsis and clip below:
Another soldier in the army of evil, the Sandman, seeps into the dreams of the residents of Sleepy Hollow. By infiltrating their minds at night, he tortures them to the brink - all because they, at one time, turned a blind eye to justice. When the Sandman seemingly sets his sights on Abbie, she is forced to begin to face her past - and her institutionalized sister, JENNY (guest star Lyndie Greenwood). With Ichabod by her side, and her life at stake, the duo must try to defeat the Sandman and continue their fight against evil in the "For the Triumph of Evil"
Sleepy Hollow airs Fridays at 9/8c on Fox.
