I saw had done this quiz a few weeks ago and decided I wanted to have a go too. I love reading random facts about other people, I'm super nosy! Hope you enjoy learning some little bits about me!
What's the first thing you do when you wake up? I'm terrible for lingering in bed in the morning, I just cannot get up as soon as the alarm goes off. I'll usually check my phone, say good morning to the dogs and chat a little bit with LF before I get up and head out with the dogs.
What's the third photo on your phone? Share it! I never delete photos from my phone, I just never get round to it, but I'm kind of glad I still have this one. This is from when we were moving into our current flat and hadn't unpacked our room yet. I kind of miss the crazy fun hair colour, and yes, I am wearing a onesie. What tv shows are you most excited about returning this Autumn? American Horror Story, we only started watching it lately and I've become totally obsessed.
What is something really popular that you secretly (or not so secretly) loathe? Until recently I was part of 'Never Watched Breaking Bad Club', I got booted out when LF got really into it a few weeks ago but I suppose now I can officially say, I don't get it. I mean, seriously, I just really don't get it.
Do you have any pets? Tell us about them! (Bonus points for photos) Yes, I have 2 monsters under the bed. Scallywag is is some sort of lab, mastiff, staffie, lurcher mix with tiger stripes. She is 3 years old and likes sleeping under the covers and standing next to you while you grate cheese (just in case). Mania is Scally's niece, so she's everything Scally is but with a siberian husky mum. She is 2 years old and likes chasing things and trying to curl up on your knee. If you could put together one outfit that represents your perfectly, what would it be? This is a really hard question because I feel like my style is changing every day at the moment. Right now I would have to go with high waisted jeans, some Minnetonka mocs (they're the best), a blouse and a heavy knit cardigan. I'd also love to get a new duffel-coat for cold dog walks.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE ADULT BEVERAGE? I'm not a big drinker but when I do I've been sticking with fruity ciders, especially the elderflower ones that have become available lately. If I'm out somewhere fancy then I usually go for a white wine spritzer or try out some ridiculous sounding cocktail.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE GUILTY PLEASURE? If I've had a tough day my absolute favourite thing to do is run a bath and stew in the water while watching a girly film on my laptop. I can perfectly happily spend hours in there.
WHAT ARE 3 POSITIVE WORDS THAT DESCRIBE YOU? Passionate, empathetic and loving
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE FRIDAY AFTERNOON/EVENING ACTIVITY? I'm a total homebody, even at my most adventurous I will just go out for a couple of drinks with friends then home to curl up with LF and the dogs on the sofa.
A DAY IN THE LIFE: WHAT DOES YOUR TYPICAL DAY LOOK LIKE? I guess it is easiest to tell you guys about a typical weekday - weekends tend to be pretty unstructured round here. I work in the morning and I like to take my time so I get up around 6.45am and take the dogs out. If I'm feeling lazy I will just stick a coat over my pjs and some boots and go like that. Then back home to shower, drink some coffee and get dressed. I leave for work around half 8 so I can get in early and have a cup of tea before I start. I'm usually in work until about 2 then jump on the bus home to take the dogs out again. We usually do our big run now so at the very least I will take them to the park to play fetch for an hour or so. After that I'll catch up with friends or just potter around the house taking care of stuff. Then dinner, blogging or bath, out with the dogs again and into bed by 10.
IF YOU COULD LIVE ANYWHERE ELSE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? I'd love to live in France for a little while, it seems silly I don't know LF's mother tongue and I would really love to learn before we start thinking about having kids. What better way to learn than living there for six months or a year?
YOU'VE GOT A WHOLE DAY TO YOURSELF... WHAT WILL YOU DO? I guess if I could do anything I would sleep in really late then pick up some coffee and croissants for a walk with the dogs. After that I'd meet up with some friends to go to a museum and a wander round the shops, followed by a drink in a dog friendly pub then home to have a bath and curl up to watch a film with LF. Not particularly adventurous, but filled with things that make me happy.
DREAM JOB? I love my job, so this is kind of a difficult one. In an ideal world I would keep my current job part time but also have a space away from home as an office/studio, somewhere I could focus on writing and learning new crafts
LEAST FAVOURITE CHORE? Hoovering dog hair off the carpet. This one is seasonal but I Mania's crazy shredding happens for about a month twice a year and I swear you could make a whole new dog out of the volume she sheds each day. I'm actually coughing up fur balls.
WHEN DO YOU MOST FEEL LIKE A ROCKSTAR? When I get up early and feel awake when I leave the house that usually sets me up pretty well for the day, finishing my to do lists just makes it even better.
WHAT IS SOMETHING YOU ARE CURRENTLY TRYING TO IMPROVE WITHIN YOURSELF? I have the most terribly lazy eating habits, particularly when I am cooking just for me. Case in point, today I had pizza for dinner. I'd really like to put the effort into making myself something tasty (and healthy) in the evening.
