Chicago Bulls Showing Plenty of Resilience to Reach .500

Mike Dinovo - USA TODAY Sports

The are back at it again being involved in overtimes. The Bulls these days are magnets for these long marathon games. This time around it took a nail-biting buzzer-beater to get the job done. The Bulls pulled this one out to beat the 102-100 in overtime.

This was such a close game from start to finish as the two teams kept trading baskets. The Bulls reached .500 with this win for the first time since Nov. 27.They have been grinding so hard to get back to relevancy after almost bottoming out earlier in the year. There were injuries, the trade of LUOL DENG and the questions of the direction of the team, but the Bulls have risen above all of that.

These days the Bulls are making plays and finding ways to win. They are getting that swagger back like they had last season without DERRICK ROSE.They are trusting each other and not hanging their heads once things start breaking down. The trade of Deng has seemed to light a fire in the Bulls, and they are playing extremely tough basketball.

TAJ GIBSON's game-winning layup will be the talk on this night.Coach TOM THIBODEAU drew up a wonderful play to get Gibson open to score with 0.9 seconds, but it's the continued consistent play of DJ AUGUSTIN that's keeping the Bulls afloat. He is making the Bulls look like geniuses for picking him up as he had a season-high 27 points to go along with four assists.Let's not forget about JOAKIM NOAH and him pushing to be an All-Star once again. He had another monster game scoring 17 points, 21 rebounds and six assists.

The Bulls are winning and it's feeling good for the organization. The buzz is coming back, and the Bulls' brand of basketball is on the horizon. The Bulls are finally .500 and will continue to fight and grind the rest of the season.
